Name: Siamak Zarei-Ghanavati
has performed over 15000 eye surgeries, lectured at UCLA (USA), UM (USA) and MUMS universities and operated in USA, Tehran and Mashhad. He is an Associate Professor at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. He delivered over 100 national and international lectures, and made over 50 speaking trips. He authored five leading textbooks in the field of cornea, cataract and refractive surgery in English and Persian, authoring over 65 articles in the field of medicine and seven book chapters. He is a Fellow in the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and a known member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS)and Iranian Society of Ophthalmology (IrSo). He is also a member of fellowship committee of International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), not to mention his membership in the board of directors of Iranian Society of Ophthalmology (IrSo) and Iranian Cornea and Refractive Surgeons. He is the editor in chief of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Journal (PSQIJ), as well as the associate editor of Journal of Current Ophthalmology in addition to being the section editor of Journal of Ophthalmic and Vision Research. His cornea and refractive surgery programme has been approved by ICO for traininginternational ophthalmologists worldwide.In this capacity, he is currently serving as the director of ICO fellowship program at MUMS.
